Zero Hotel in Valparaíso is a beautiful blue building from 1880 that has been carefully restored and refurbished. Located in Cerro Alegre, there are lovely views from this small nine-room inn, four of them with bay views and others that face the hills. The rooms are bright and cheerful and with full well-equipped bathrooms. They have flat screen television, wi-fi, telephone and good Egyptian linens on the bed. Breakfast is served in the Winter Garden, a crystal structure built in the heart of Cerro Alegre from where you can enjoy the port views. There are four terraces that descend from the hill to the ocean, and on the lower terrace there is a jacuzzi. There is also an honesty bar at this little hotel. Only breakfast is served here but there are many good restaurants within walking distance. Ask the staff for recommendations, most of them speaks English and are happy to help.

Notes

Valparaiso is a world heritage site and was immortalized in the words of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Enjoy its charming funiculars and colourful hillside houses.
