The Hotel offers a 10% discount upon reservation for 4 nights or more. Discount for groups and prolonged days. This delightfully chic (and inexpensive) boutique hotel is on the second story of a nineteenth century mansion with vanguardist decor harmoniously mixed with the modern. With lively colours, panoramic windows, rich wood floors and fascinating artwork, it is lovely place to stay. The area in which it is located, the Bellavista barrio, is in a bohemian part of town that was once home to poet Pablo Neruda. This is a lively, but somewhat rough-around-the edges area full of some of the city's best bars, nightclubs and restaurants. There are ten spacious ensuite rooms and a central area open to a windowed gallery that looks over a plaza with shops and restaurants. The rooms are decorated in bright colours with modern furniture, with flat screen satellite television, and wifi throughout. There are seven queen-bed rooms and three twin rooms with small but well-equipped bathrooms with showers. Only breakfast is served here (inside or on the terrace) and there is a phenomenal choice of restaurants for lunch and dinner just downstairs in the Plaza. There is a young, multi-lingual staff at this little hotel: they would be delighted to help you plan your stay.

Notes Activities in the area: The Bellavista area's main attraction is La Chascona once the home of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. It is built to look like a ship and is filled with quirky souvenirs that he collected on his travels. Take the funicular to the Metropolitan Park with its zoo, swimming pools, hiking trails, botanical gardens and restaurants. Visit the Plaza de Armas; the fish market in the Mercado Central, the convent gardens of the Church of San Francisco (the oldest standing building in Santiago); panoramic city views (including the snow-capped peaks of the Andes on smog-free days) from the top Cerro Santa Lucía, where Santiago was founded in 1540; the world-class galleries of the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. Santiago is surrounded by wine-growing districts - there are tours available from the hotel.
