There is no room tax except for Chilean residents (tax of 19%). The Guest House, also known as the Casa Wetzel, is a mansion built in 1926 as a city home for a German Family. Vicki Johnson and her partner Morris Lewis have renovated the old home, adding all possible modern comforts, while attempting to return it to its original state. With all of the amenities of a hotel, they offer a home away from home in the city of Puerto Varas, a German town founded in 1853. Located in the historic district, its central location makes it easy to move around the city to enjoy all of the best shops and restaurants. The large house has ten rooms simply decorated rooms with private bath and comfortable beds. The owners are friendly and will be happy to help you plan your stay in Puerto Varas.

Notes On the shore, Puerto Varas is one of the most emblematic cities in Chile and one of the most beautiful on Lake Llanquihue. It is located in an area called the Lakes and Volcanoes District. Just 20 kilometers away from Puerto Montt, the town of Puerto Varas has beautiful regional plants and flowers leading down to the waterfront - a pleasant sight both day and night. See the silhouettes of the snow-covered Osorno and Calbuco Volcanoes.
In addition to its beaches and bathing resorts in the summer, you can enjoy river-rafting, hiking, salmon fishing at Petrohué River and Lake Todos los Santos. This is one of the most popular location for mountaineers who attempt the summits of these peaks. An spectacular way to see the area is by alight aircraft from the local aerodrome. From the air, there is a clear view of the city and surroundings, lake and mountains. There are lots of good restaurants and pubs in Puerto Varas.

Cancellation Policy:
A 10% non-refundable deposit will be taken at the time of confirming your reservation and this will be applied to your bill at checkout. For groups of 3 or more rooms, the Hotel requires an additional 50% deposit of the total booking. Group cancellations must be made within 30 days for a refund.Individual room reservations must be cancelled at least 72 hours prior to arrival date otherwise 100% of stay will be charged. If cancelled less than 72 hours, or no-show, full amount of reservation will be charged.
