Please note that the hotel has been unaffected by the earthquake, and is currently accepting guests.
Built in the 1930's and with extensive upgrading and renovations completed a few years ago, this delightful adobe house is now a small and friendly inn. The location is in Colchagua's countryside, surrounded by vineyards. Located only 2.5 Km from Santa Cruz over the road called "Barreales" that communicates Santa Cruz with the "Carretera del Vino" that goes from San Fernando to the coast. El Parador de la Viña has one suite, one double room with matrimonial bed and four twin rooms, all with full private bathroom. Breakfast is included in the cost of the room. In the garden is a delightful swimming pool. The friendly owners will be very happy to help you plan your visits to significant sights (and vineyards) in the area and to choose nearby restaurants.
Notes
Approximately 150 kms (93 miles) south of the capital city, Santiago, Colchagua is truly blessed when it comes to producing red wines. Warm and naturally dry, but with an abundant water supply from the Tinguiririca River, Colchagua is a narrow agricultural valley that begins at the foot of the Andes and extends west to the Pacific Ocean. The approximately 910,000 hectares (2,250 acres) in between offer many different microclimates, soil types, steep hillsides ideal for vineyards, and a growing number of wineries that are perfectly able to make excellent Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and many good Carmenère and Malbec wines.Choose your own custom-designed tour and visit the Colchagua Valley’s finest vineyards on the Wine Route. The Colchagua Harvest Festival takes over the streets of Santa Cruz in Chile’s Sixth Region in early March.

It was beautiful and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Didn't Like:
I was promised various times by the hotel owner that I would have adjoining rooms (I have two children under three years old who both still nap in the day). When we arrived the man who greeted us informed us that they don't have adjoining rooms, so it was a bit inconvenient.

The Parador is a lovely property, in a beautiful setting. The decor and layout provide a very homey and warm feeling. Our room was very spacious, with a nice bathroom, and the public spaces were cosy and comfortable.
Didn't Like:
We were not really able to communicate well with the owner or manager, due to our inability to speak Spanish. Didn't really affect our enjoyment of the area though, as we had done some research into wineries and restaurants before arriving.
